anti-corrosive alkyd enamel paint

Highly resistant anti-corrosive enamel paint. Deactivates rust and protects metal surfaces against moisture-induced corrosion, UV radiation and adverse weather conditions. Apply directly on rust without previous application of red lead or anti-corrosive primer for metal surfaces. Ensures a high gloss finish, non yellowing over time. Quick-drying, shock and wear resistant. Easy to work, non drip formulation, perfect flow, no brush or roller marks. Ideal for metal surfaces, such as doors, balustrades, steel structures, machinery, vehicles and industrial equipment.

Preparation

Carefully prepare surface to obtain good results. Remove all weathered coatings, loose materials and oils. Sand surface smooth and remove sanding residue with a rag.

► Rusted previously painted metal surfaces:
Remove all traces of rust or old paint with a wire brush. Apply 2-3 coats of METALAID.

► Old galvanized, zinc, aluminium, bronze, chromium or copper surfaces:
Sand surface lightly. Prime with ANTIRUST, 1 coat. Leave at least 12-15 hours before application of METALAID, 1-2 coats.

► New metal:
Apply 2 coats of METALAID. For optimum anti-corrosive protection, prime with ANTIRUST or MARIN MINIO.

Use

Roller, brush or spray airless. Thin by 5-10% WHITE SPIRIT/THINNER 135. 

Minimum application temperature: 5°C.

Drying out - coverage

Drying times are dependent on ambient temperature and film thickness. Touch dry: 1-2 hours. Recoat: 4-6 hours. Practical coverage: 11-15m²/lt depending on the thickness of each coat and the surface porosity.
