acrylic stone varnish, colourless

Acrylic based varnish for stone. Ideal for flagstones, fire bricks, roof tiles, ceramic tiles, mosaics, ceiling trims, porous stone, non-absorbent stones, etc. Penetrates in depth, waterproofs and stabilises absorbent surfaces (porous stone-bricks), offering exceptional resistance to chemical and mechanical stresses. Highly resistant to water and alkali. Easy to apply. High gloss finish with excellent durability. Enhances the natural colours in the stone protecting the surface against humidity and preventing stains from being absorbed into the pores of the stone. Non-yellowing over time, ideal for indoor and outdoor use.

Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, free of resins, oil, old weathered coatings and dust. Sand surface smooth using the right sandpaper for the task.

► New and old stone:
Apply 2-3 coats of POLACRYL 355 depending on the absorbency of the stone.
► Old stone with mildew, insects, algae:
Remove weathered coats, sand and remove sanding residue. Wait for 24 hours (until the surface is completely dry) and apply 2-3 coats of POLACRYL 355 depending on the absorbency of the stone.

Use

► Ready to use.
► The number of coats depends on the desired gloss and resistance to mechanical stress.
► Lower temperatures or higher relative humidity will prolong drying and recoating times.
► Shake or stir well before use.
► Weathered surfaces (e.g. porous stone, plaster) requiring stabilization: apply the next coat as soon as the previous one is absorbed.

Drying out - coverage

Drying times are dependent on ambient temperature and film thickness.

Touch dry: 1 hour.

Recoat: 2-3 hours.

Practical coverage: 4-8m²/lt depending on the thickness of each coat and the surface porosity.
