Preparation
Carefully prepare surface to obtain good results. Surface must be clean, dry and free from loose or flaking material, dust, oils and salts.
► New cement or mortar:
Allow one month after pool construction before painting. The pool must be dry and free from humidity and any dust particle. Apply a 10% hydrochloric acid solution for the pores to open and for obtaining a tighter grip between the surface and the coat. Once you apply the HCI, rub with a brush until the bubbling action of the acid stops. Rinse HCI well with plenty of water. Rub the surface to remove any foreign material. Leave at least one week to dry before painting the pool. If pool insulation is required, apply POLACRYL 301 until surface saturation is achieved. Apply 2-3 coats of POOLGLOSS.
► New glass, tiles, enamel plates:
Prime with SMALTO GRIP, 1-2 coats. Apply 2-3 coats of POOLGLOSS.
► New stone:
Apply POLACRYL 302 until surface saturation is achieved and sand surface smooth. Apply 2-3 coats of POOLGLOSS.
► Recoated old surfaces:
Remove any dirt and loose material with a wire brush. Rinse with water. Make sure that the surface is dry before paint application. Prime with UNI-PRIMER, 1-2 coats, where necessary. Apply 2-3 coats of POOLGLOSS.
